Here are a couple optional items that are just much easier to do "while you're in there": #6: Replace and/or reseal the oil filter housing and thermostat housing. New units include a new thermostat. #7: Replace the water pump and bolts (if aluminum). Last edited by -Wes-; 01-23-2023 at 10:48 AM. Reply Like.

Cold air starts coming out of the passenger side vent then all the other vents and the engine oil temps starts climbing up about 20-25 degrees more than the normal. The coolant temp is kind of stuck at 190, which I saw at an earlier post above. I slow down to 45mph and the oil temp drops down to the normal range. Drop off vehicle again.
Re: Coolant temp sensor location on 3.0? It's located in the top rear edge of the engine. Close to the firewall slightly to the passenger side. It is plumbed into a black metal pipe (coolant distribution pipe) and has a circlip that holds it into a recessed socket. The harness is a 4-pin.
Step 2 – Install new O2 sensor. Make sure that you have the correct type of sensor. Applying a small amount of anti-seize grease will make the O2 sensor easier to remove in the future. Thread in the new O2 sensor by hand, then tighten it with a ratchet. Then reconnect the electrical connector.

Coolant leak issue. I recently purchased a 2013 Audi TDI 3.0L. I saw pool of liquid below it and determined it was antifreeze. I got a low level alarm on next start up to move up to garage. Once I popped the hood noticed coolant everywhere as it was thrown around by the belt and pulley's. I pressurized the system and nothing would leak.
