The new DJI drone Avata has three flight modes: Normal, Manual, and Sport. Since the Avata is an FPV drone, these flight modes are different from what you may have seen on other DJI drones such as the Mini 2 or Mavic 3. Girlfriend’s parent’s house is about 4.9 miles from a small airport. Requested authorization via DJI website, entered in all info, still couldn’t takeoff. What I didn’t see until I was home the day day, was my authorization in my DJI Fly app. Start your app, go to Profile, then Settings, scroll down on the left to “Unlock GEO Zone”.
A scenario where the unlock license may fail to appear in DJI equipment. Once upon a time, I did successfully request unlock from DJI FlySafe unlock but the license never appeared. Eventually I figured out why. Technically, when using the Fly app, we are logged-in to DJI but tend not to think about it.

When you are ready to fly, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and, under the safety heading, scroll down to Unlock GEO Zone and click on the little sideways v on the right and it will bring up your Flight controller info on the left. On the right, you will see "Import to aircraft".

2 days ago · I recently updated my mini3pro database and it was a big download. I now notice the restriction zones around my local airport have changed slightly, and look to be much closer to the official UK CAA restrictions, rather than DJI's loose approximation. Also the altitude restrictions along the approach paths to the airport have gone.
Basically there's nothing you can do about this. One thing you can do is to purchase a drone that does not have no fly zones. There are many inexpensive GPS drones getting released right now and I bet most of them do not have any flight restrictions. You still need to follow the local rules however. 2016-6-3.
The DJI Mavic Air is the newest drone in the “consumer” line of products. At an MSRP of $799 for the drone itself, it is twice more expensive than the most basic “Spark”, but $300 cheaper than its larger brother, the Mavic Pro. Thanks to its foldable design, it is the smallest of the three.
